# Are you willing to forget what you have done for other people, and to remember what other people have done for you ...
to remember the weakness and loneliness of people who are growing old ... Are you willing to believe that love is the strongest
ting in the world ... stronger than hate, stronger than evil, stronger than death... Then you can keep Christmas! But you
can never keep it alone.--Henry van Dyke ("Keeping Christmas" in The Spirit of Christmas) New! as of 11/28/05
# "At this festive season of the year, Mr Scrooge," said the gentleman, taking up a pen, "it is more than
usually desirable that we should make some slight provision for the poor and destitute, who suffer greatly at the present
time. ... We choose this time, because it is a time, of all others, when Want is keenly felt, and Abundance rejoices."--Charles
Dickens (A Christmas Carol)

charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent
to open their shut-up hearts freely."--Charles Dickens (A Christmas Carol)
# A Christmas candle is a lovely thing;
It makes no noise at all,
But softly gives itself away;
While quite unselfish, it grows small.--Eva K. Logue
Past Quotes:
Here lies a poor woman who always was tired, for she lived in a place where help wasn't hired. Her last words on earth were,
Dear friends I am going where washing ain't done nor sweeping nor sewing, and everything there is exact to my wishes, for
there they don't eat and there's no washing of dishes.... Don't mourn for me never, for I'm going to do nothing forever and
ever.

God's Coffee
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation
soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and
returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups -- porcelain, plastic, glass crystal, some plain looking, some
expensive, some exquisite -- telling them to help themselves to the coffee.When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand,
the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and
cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.
Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even
hides what we drink."What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups...
And then you began eyeing each other's cups."Now consider this: Life is the coffee; our jobs, money and position in society
are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change, the quality
of life we live."Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us."
God brews the coffee, not the cups.......... Enjoy your coffee!"The happiest people don't have the best of everything.
They just make the best of everything."
